Green Drinks is "an organic, self-organizing network" of environmental people who get together to talk green, have some drinks, and hang out. Generally, Green Drinks groups meet once a month. I don't know how it works everywhere, but in San Diego, usually a different environmental organization hosts each month, and there are free drinks (until it runs out) and sometimes free food. The Houston, TX one has a different informal guest speaker each week.
The cool thing is it is a great way to network with people to try and find environmental jobs in your 'hood - which, if you've ever tried finding an environmental job before, you know is basically the only way to get a job around here. It is all about who you know, so if you are looking for work, try schmoozing it up at Green Drinks. Or, if you are just looking for a place where you can hang out with people who don't think you are crazy because you recycle like it's your religion, Green Drinks is for you.

I definitely need to check out Green Drinks! I keep getting emails but haven't gone yet. It will be awesome to meet green people in Houston.
