My son gave me a gift I will long remember--a ten pound bag of dry pintos! I love the burlap bag but I have never been good at cooking with pintos. BUT HOPE is here! I am looking forward to trying this recipe. It is written just like I like-- chatty with lots of advice. I am lovin' this site!

It was interesting to ride w/ Adam b/c it is diffeent than I normally drive. It would be awesome to get great gas mileage.

That entire meal sounds AWESOME. I love meatloaf & mashed potatoes & gravy!

Lara's been making some really good vegan desserts. My fave is this raspeberry chocolate cake but she also makes a good carrott cake.

One of my favorite veggie dishes at Thanksgiving is Cornbread Dressing. My parents make it from scratch. Also - my dad makes THE BEST yeast rolls.

I finally made the fry bread tonight. I've never made bread from scratch so I have a question. When I made the dough, it was impossible to mix by had b/c it was so sticky. It just stuck all over my hands and WOULD NOT come off. What should I have done? Mix more, add flour??

this happened to darren! only it wasn't a plastic bag - it was some huge thing of plastic and it got wrapped around the axel or something on the car and couldn't steer, or something else weird. he had to pull over on the freeway to cut it off and it took him like an hour, and i think it ended up snapping or breaking something anyways.

Wrap with paper bags or paper, but I can't draw ... so I like to save my christmas cards from the year before (or buy some from the ginormous clearance wracks they have post christmas because people are obsessed with overstocking merchandise for the holidays) and cut them up. all you need is a glue stick to decorate the homemade paper (not patience, or art skills)

Have a gift treasure hunt with clues.
Put in decorative storage containers.
Put gift in a DIFFERENT product's box. Surprise person that they are getting something that is not shown on the box. Start saving these faux gift boxes all year!!

I always use paper grocery shopping bags. I cut them open flat and on the clean/no print side I stamp it everywhere with this decorative stamp I have with gold ink. then i tie a strand of raffia around it. it looks cute!
